Why our Guests Love Staying Here

Read hundreds more verified guest reviews on our Guest Reviews page.

Our family of 5 and two dogs stayed at this beautiful property for a week.

On arrival we met the host who was very welcoming and showed us around. The house and its surroundings are just stunning. You can see Snowdonia and watch the jets fly by daily. It’s a peaceful place. The swimming pool was a massive hit with the whole family and we used it daily. The hot tub and large garden area was brilliant for the evenings to relax.

The home itself is very well equipped. The bedrooms are large and the open plan kitchen and living room is perfect to keep the family together in one place. We visited plenty of areas around North Wales including Aber Falls, castles Anglesey and Betws y Coed – all very accessible with short drives from the property. Thank you for having us and we will hopefully be back to stay in the future.

Our stay at Laurel Cottage was simply quite perfect and we must say a big thank you to Penny and Suzy for their excellent customer service.

Nothing was too much trouble – every request or query we had was answered immediately with thoughtfulness and respect from the moment of welcoming us to our departure. The cottage was spotless and comfortable with the most spectacular views of the hills and valley …we just couldn’t tear our eyes away. It was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable.

Having had a hip replacement operation six weeks previously, I was relieved to discover how easy it was to get around the cottage and practise my walking in the long immaculate garden! The walk in shower was greatly appreciated too! My daughter and son in law loved the pool and the hot tub…and next time hopefully I will be fit to use them too. We came because we needed an escape from the pace of life for a few days…what we found was, in my daughter’s words, a little piece of heaven.

We stayed at Laurel with our eight and ten year old boys and had a fantastic time!

The pool is excellent, and although shared with Fig Tree cottage, there was an expectation that each cottage take it in turns to use it, making it essentially a private pool. The hot tub has spectacular views of the hills, as does the outside seating area. There is loads of space outside for the kids to kick a ball around and run around. The cottage itself is spacious, and with the bedrooms at either end of the cottage, would also suit a group of adults.

Everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen well equipped. We made use of the laundry room, which has appliances that are very easy to figure out – bonus! It is situated in a rural location, but only a few miles to a main road. We found loads to do in the area with or without kids. We’d highly recommend and will be booking again in the future.

So good we had booked another stay before we left!

The view from the property was amazing, the pool, hot tube were even better than they looked and the garden area was really spacious. There were games, books available. Lots of recommendations for nearby. Bit tricky to get too but think this was our reading of the directions !! Penny had sent detailed directions. Welsh food centre nearby for food – really good but expensive and shop quite a while a way so best come prepared. Just felt such a peaceful place to be could feel stress leave and felt such a refreshing break. Penny is really helpful and her and her sister are available if needed. Really recommend this stay.

What a spot!

We have two young boys so space is always welcomed! Here you have the most stunning views through the valley. Spacious cottage that is kitted out with everything you could require. Beautiful gardens where there is a great hot tub. A wonderful indoor swimming pool which is a great depth warm and very clean and tidy.

Is also a joining cottage that we could see being great to visit in the future and bring freinds or family along with us for the stay.

Nearby to Colwyn Bay, Bangor and Betws-y-Coed all worthwhile spots for lots of hiking mountain biking etc!

Thanks Penny for the warm welcome

This house has everything you could need for a wonderful mountain trip with the family.

Stunning views, comfy sheets and towels, an amazing indoor heated pool, hot tub, large grassy area for the kids to run and play. We cooked delicious meals on the grill and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Penny was one of the best hosts we have ever experienced – she welcomed us and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed – plus her digital guidebook was spot on for local recommendations and clear instructions. We had a blast in this area of Wales – highly recommend Zip World, exploring the town of Betws-y-coed and Conwy, and checking out the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Look no further for your next perfect mountain get-away!!

A really beautiful spot to stay and completely relax for a week.

Lots to do in the local area-for all ages! The cottage was really comfortable and cosy, and the kids loved the pool. The views are stunning and constantly changing. We wished we had stayed longer!

Rosie, Laurel

We had an amazing stay at Fig Tree with the most beautiful views.

The pool and hot tub were so relaxing. Penny was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and everything went smoothly – we couldn’t have asked for a better time.

Sarah, Fig Tree

We stayed for a week in Fig Tree Cottage.

The location is beautiful, stunning views. The cottage is clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a lovely week. The girls especially enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Penny was very helpful and on hand for any issues we had. Thanks again.

Sophia, Fig Tree

Ah, what can we say about Penny’s place?

It’s just lovely. The cottage was clean and had everything you could possibly need. The gardens were fab for our 3 year old to run around in and they get the sun all day – perfect for an Aperol Spritz with a view. The hot tub was a hit for an evening once the kids had gone to bed. THE POOL!! Just brilliant and again made our son’s holiday but I equally enjoyed my own private swimming moments too. It’s shared only with the other cottage and as it’s open 24 hrs we never crossed paths, so it truly is a ‘private pool’. Lastly the views… you can feel your batteries recharging just looking at the mountains with your morning coffee. Hope to be back. Loved our little holiday x

Peace & tranquility.

It was a warm summer’s evening when we arrived and the garden was the perfect spot to unwind and relax with a glass of wine, followed by a delightful dip in the hot tub. The journey up the track is well worth it, the views are simply stunning (the photos do not do it justice). Our two teenage boys adored the pool and spent hours having fun. The host, Penny was very quick to respond to messages. It is well located and highly recommend booking some activities at Snowdonia Adventure Parc, which is just a short drive away. Our teenagers loved the indoor Ninja Park, which it’s slides and air bag. We had a great weekend away. Highly recommend a stay here.

Marie, Fig Tree

Loved our stay here.

Beautiful views and very friendly host. It’s a bit of a drive to the nearest shop if you forget anything which is a bit annoying but the view makes up for that! Beautiful hot tub and swimming facilities. Would love to return.

Rebecca, Laurel

Faultless stay, easily the best place I’ve stayed at with Airbnb!

Such a perfect place to stay from the amazing view and rooms to the hot tub and the pool. Everything you could possibly need was provided and Penny was extremely friendly and there to greet us and show us around – answering any questions we had. Will definitely be coming back again, 20/10 – if you’re looking for a place to stay in North Wales then just stay here :).

We had a wonderful stay at Fig Tree Cottage.

Penny was very welcoming and showed us how everything worked in the Cottage. Penny is just down the hill if you need her, but the Cottages are set further up the hill giving complete privacy and space. This is a beautifully appointed Cottage, lovely kitchen for meal prep and really comfy beds. Super squashy sofa’s for lounging about on and looking out at the magnificent view across the Conwy Valley. The views will leave you speechless. The hot tub was wonderful after a day’s walking or sightseeing and the swimming pool is just a huge added bonus. We already miss the peace and quiet and the amazing sights from the garden. Tip for location: follow the google maps ‘pin’ that Penny sends on booking. It will take you directly to the Cottages.

Gareth, Fig Tree

Absolutely stunning dog friendly place to stay, the most beautiful view to wake up to and enjoy a cup of coffee taking it all in.

We had the most amazing and relaxing week, didn’t want to leave. We also got engaged there – so will always have special memories for us. The pool is fantastic perfect temp, and room is heated also. Hot tub is spot on, nice seating area outside (sadly weather was wet most of week so we didn’t get much chance to use it) had many day trips planned, but just enjoyed chilling at the cottage most days. We did visit Conwy Castle and Llandudno and would recommend both. We will be back soon. Thank you Penny- great host x.

Perfectly Located in the Conwy Valley

The Conwy Valley is the secret to exploring North Wales without spending your days in the car. From our cottages, you’re 20-30 minutes from both the peaks of Eryri and the North Wales coast.

Bodnant Garden (one of Britain’s finest) is our neighbour at just 3 miles. Conwy, with its UNESCO-listed medieval castle and historic harbour, is a 9-mile drive. Head inland to Betws-y-Coed for waterfalls and forest walks or west to the summit path of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Sandy beaches and coastal trails lie 20 minutes away at Llandudno and Deganwy.

After days exploring castles, climbing peaks or wandering beaches with the dogs, you return to your hot tub, that view and the warm water of the pool.

How to Pronounce Welsh Place Names (A Friendly Guide for Visitors)

You shouldn't avoid asking for directions, booking that restaurant or telling people where you're staying just because Welsh place names look like keyboard accidents. Learn the six key sounds that unlock pronunciation across North Wales, and suddenly Beddgelert, Penmaenmawr and Llanfairpwllgwyngyll stop being obstacles. This is your cheat sheet to sounding reasonably competent, even if you'll never be mistaken for a local.
