Frequently Asked Questions.

We’ve gathered the questions guests ask most often below, organised into four sections so it’s easy to find what you need. You’ll find more detail on things like the indoor pool, hot tubs and bringing your dog on their own pages. If there’s anything else, just get in touch.
The Cottages
How many guests can stay in each cottage?
Fig Tree sleeps up to five guests across two bedrooms: a king-size bedroom and a flexible zip-and-link room, arranged as either a super-king or twin singles, plus a convertible chair bed.
Laurel sleeps up to four guests, with a super-king bedroom and a twin bedroom.
Together, the cottages can be booked as The Entire Getaway, accommodating up to nine guests in total.
All bedding is hypoallergenic with 100% cotton linen throughout.
Are your cottages accessible?
Both Fig Tree and Laurel are single-storey throughout with no internal steps, which makes them well suited to guests with limited mobility and multi-generational groups. All doorways have a minimum 750mm clear opening and parking is close to each cottage entrance.
Please note the shower cubicles have a raised tray requiring a small step up; baths require stepping over the side; the pool is accessed via a standard ladder with handrails (four steps, with no hoist or level-entry access); and hot tubs require stepping up and over the side.
Read our full Accessibility Guide for further details.
Do you provide cots or high chairs?
Yes. There’s a travel cot (with mattress) and a high chair available for each cottage, so one of each for Fig Tree or Laurel, or two of each if you book both as The Entire Getaway. Please bring your own cot bedding. Both need booking in advance, so just let us know at the time of reservation.
Are your cottages dog-friendly?
Yes. We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs per cottage (up to four if you book both cottages together). The charge is £35 per dog, per stay, booked and paid for in advance.
Dogs must not be left unaccompanied in the cottage or garden at any time.
Read our dog-friendly page for details on nearby walks and what we provide.
Is the garden secure?
Partially. The one-acre garden is enclosed by rural stock fencing (wooden posts with wire mesh) that’s secure and keeps sheep out. However, the driveway gate stays open for ease of access and leads onto a quiet country lane, so the garden isn’t fully dog-proof. There are also no internal fences between the two cottage areas, which is intentional to preserve the views.
We recommend supervising dogs at all times, particularly those prone to wandering or with a high prey drive, as we’re surrounded by working farms.
Can I smoke or vape in the cottage?
No. Smoking, vaping and candles are strictly prohibited inside the cottages and will result in a deep cleaning charge. You’re welcome to smoke in the outdoor garden areas.
Is there mobile signal and WiFi?
Mobile signal is generally good at the cottages, though this varies by network. Check your provider’s coverage checker for details.
Both cottages have WiFi with average speeds of 30 to 40 Mbps. As with any rural location, speeds can occasionally fluctuate, but guests generally have no problem streaming Netflix, making video calls or working remotely.
Booking
How do I book?
The simplest way is to book online: check availability, choose your cottage, add dogs if needed and pay your deposit securely in one go.
You can also email or call us at bookings@conwyvalleygetaway.co.uk or 07745 570005 and we’ll arrange it together.
Can I book a short break?
During the low season we offer weekend and midweek short breaks of 2 or 3 nights, with Friday or Monday arrivals.
Peak season (summer school holidays, Christmas and Easter) is typically weekly bookings only.
Check the availability calendar for current openings.
Are prices per cottage or per person?
All prices are per cottage, per stay, regardless of guest numbers (up to the maximum occupancy).
The only additional charges are dogs (£35 per dog, per stay) and EV charging (54p/kWh, pay-as-you-go; a peak rate of 96p/kWh applies between 4-7pm daily).
What's included in the rental price?
Included in your stay: exclusive use of your cottage and patio, fresh bed linen and bath sheets, heating and electricity, WiFi, private hot tub, shared heated indoor pool, shared one-acre garden, parking for two cars and access to the shared laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
The kitchen is also stocked with a selection of starter essentials, including tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, kitchen roll, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets and bin liners.
Please note that dog charges, EV charging and towels for the pool and hot tub are not included.
What deposit do I need to pay and when is the balance due?
A 25% deposit is required to confirm your booking. If you pay by card, this is usually completed during the online booking process.
If you choose to pay by bank transfer, or the payment is not completed, your reservation will remain provisional and the dates will be held for up to 48 hours. Your booking is confirmed once the deposit has been received and cleared.
If payment is not received within 48 hours, the provisional reservation will be cancelled and the dates reopened.
Do you require a security or damage deposit?
No. We don’t take a separate security or damage deposit.
We trust our guests to look after the cottages during their stay. If any accidental damage or breakages do occur, we simply ask that you report them before departure. Any associated repair or replacement costs will be invoiced after your stay and payable within 7 days.
It’s a simpler, more straightforward approach that avoids unnecessary admin and helps keep the booking process quick and easy.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and UK bank transfer. All card payments are processed securely through Holiday Rent Payment via our booking system (SuperControl). We don’t store card details.
Can I change my booking dates?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change dates. We’ll do our best to accommodate subject to availability. If the new dates are at a different rate, the price will be adjusted accordingly. If we can’t accommodate a change, the standard cancellation policy applies.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, the amount you’re liable for depends on how much notice you give us:
| Notice given | Amount liable |
|---|---|
| More than 60 days before arrival | 25% (your deposit) |
| 60 to 28 days before arrival | 60% |
| 27 to 8 days before arrival | 80% |
| Within 7 days of arrival | 100% |
If we’re able to re-let your dates, we’ll refund any amount paid minus our administrative costs and any difference in price.
We strongly recommend taking out holiday cancellation insurance before booking.
Read our full Terms and Conditions for complete details.
What happens if you need to cancel my booking?
In the unlikely event we need to cancel your booking, you’ll receive a full refund of all payments made. We would only ever cancel due to circumstances genuinely beyond our control, such as serious property damage or a force majeure event.
Please note that we’re only able to refund money you’ve paid to us directly. We can’t compensate for consequential costs such as travel bookings or alternative accommodation, which is another reason we strongly recommend taking out holiday cancellation insurance that covers supplier failure.

Yes. Each cottage has dedicated parking for two cars on a level, paved surface. More spaces are available on request.
Can I charge my EV?
Yes. There’s a shared 7kW Type 2 tethered EV charging point on the outside wall of the laundry room, powered by Voltshare at 54p/kWh (96p/kWh between 4-7pm daily). Scan the QR code, pay via the website or app and plug in.
Domestic 3-pin trickle chargers are strictly prohibited for fire safety and insurance reasons. Read our full EV Policy.

Check-in is from 4pm on your arrival day, and check-out is by 10am on departure.
If you’d like a late check-out, please ask in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate. Departures without prior arrangement may incur an additional charge.
If you’re running late on arrival day, a quick call or text to 07745 570005 is always appreciated.
Do you live on site?
We live in the main house, a short distance downhill from the cottages. We respect your privacy but we’re generally around if you need anything. Just call or message us.
What information will I receive before my stay?
A few days before you arrive, we’ll send you a link to your personal digital guest guide – one for Fig Tree, one for Laurel. It works on any phone or tablet, no app download required.
The guide is organised into nine sections covering everything from arrival information and the pool to the local area and what to do before you leave.

Every local recommendation comes with a map pin – restaurants, walks, castles, gardens, pubs – organised by category so you can see at a glance what’s nearby.
Each place has a photo, practical detail and honest advice on what to expect – written by us, not pulled from a review site.
It’s the same local knowledge we’d share over the fence, available whenever you need it.
How far are the nearest supermarkets and do they deliver?
The nearest large supermarkets, Tesco and Asda, are in Llandudno Junction, around 9 miles away (approximately 25 minutes). There’s also a Co-op and Spar in Llanrwst, around 6 miles away (approximately 15 minutes).
We’re within delivery range for Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose and Ocado. If you’re arranging a grocery delivery, please use the full cottage address, include your cottage name (Fig Tree or Laurel) and schedule delivery for after 4pm on your arrival day.
Is the pool available throughout our stay?
The heated indoor pool is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the duration of your stay. There are no session times, no booking slots and no closing times. Find out more about the pool.
Who shares the pool?
The pool is shared only between Fig Tree and Laurel guests. Even when both cottages are occupied, that’s a maximum of nine guests. When you book The Entire Getaway, the pool is exclusively yours.
Do you have any sustainability measures in place?
Yes. In May 2026 we completed a solar and battery installation on the roof of holiday cottages and indoor pool – 41 panels generating an estimated 17,650kWh per year, with 17.52kWh of battery storage. Together they cover around 55% of the property’s electricity needs across the year, and considerably more in summer. We’re on the Octopus Agile tariff, which means when we do draw from the grid, we’re buying at times of lower demand and lower carbon intensity.
The peak rate on the EV charger follows the same logic – electricity between 4 and 7pm is both more expensive and more carbon-intensive, so we price accordingly to encourage off-peak charging.
Beyond energy, we follow all Welsh Government requirements for business waste separation and recycling, use refillable toiletries and cleaning products throughout both cottages, and manage the cottage garden with wildlife in mind. We’re also a signatory of the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge.
Can I bring day visitors?
Please get in touch in advance if you’d like friends or family to visit during your stay. We’re usually happy to accommodate day visitors, though we need to know to ensure other guests’ privacy is respected.Â
Day visitors are not permitted to use the pool or hot tubs, as these facilities are exclusively for paying guests.
Are there quiet hours?
Yes. We ask all guests to observe quiet hours between 10pm and 8am, particularly in the outdoor areas. We’re in a rural location where sound travels, and there may be other guests staying next door.
Do I need a car?
Yes. The cottages are in a rural location with very limited public transport. The nearest train station is Llandudno Junction, around 9 miles away (approximately 25 minutes by taxi).
What if something goes wrong during our stay?
Please contact us straight away on 07745 570005 if anything isn’t quite right during your stay. We’re on site and can usually sort things quickly.
We can’t resolve problems we don’t know about, so please let us know as soon as possible rather than waiting until after your stay.
For any life-threatening emergency, call 999 first.
After your Stay
I think I've left something behind
Please contact us as soon as you realise by emailing bookings@conwyvalleygetaway.co.uk or calling 07745 570005. If we find your item, we’ll usually ask you to send a stamped addressed envelope so we can return it to you.
How do I leave a review?
We really appreciate reviews, both to help us improve and to help future guests decide if we’re right for them.Â
Where to leave a review:Â
- Google (this helps us most)
- In the cottage guestbook
- Via Upfront Reviews (you’ll receive an automated email invitation after your stay)
For further guidance, read our Consumer Reviews Policy.
Can I book again?
Absolutely. We love welcoming back returning guests. Peak weeks and school holiday dates go early, so it’s worth checking availability sooner rather than later.
