The Garden

What to Expect

One acre of shared garden stretches across level lawn, with panoramic views over the Conwy Valley to the Carneddau beyond.

There are no internal fences between the cottage patios or lawn areas. This keeps the views open and means you can see across much of the garden from the cottages.

The Driveway

The driveway remains open for access, so the garden is not fully enclosed. Dogs prone to wandering or chasing livestock need close supervision.

The Boundary

The outer boundary is rural stock fencing, with sheep and cattle in the surrounding farmland.

Shared Space

The garden is shared between Fig Tree and Laurel when both cottages are occupied. There are no internal fences between the patios and lawn.

How the outdoor spaces fit together

Dog-Friendly Days Out

The Conwy Valley is exceptional walking country. Start with the Llyn Syberi loop, a gentle lake walk just along the lane from the cottages, perfect for stretching your dog’s legs before breakfast.

Gwydir Forest offers shaded woodland trails year-round, and the beaches of the North Wales coast, including Llandudno, Conwy and Penmaenmawr, are within easy reach and many welcome dogs.

For the more ambitious, the ridges above the valley offer serious hill days with the kind of views that make the climb worthwhile. Back down in the valley, The Bee Inn in Eglwysbach is a ten-minute drive, a proper Welsh pub with open fires, the kind of spot for a well-earned pint after a big walk.

Before You Stay

Good to Know

A few practical details for bringing your dog, including what we provide and the main house rules.

At the Cottages

Hard flooring in the main living areas makes muddy paws easier to deal with.

An outdoor hose is available for rinsing off after walks.

A fresh water bowl will be waiting on arrival. A waste bin is located in the shared courtyard.

Dogs must not be left unattended in the cottage or garden.

Please keep dogs on a lead in the shared courtyard, out of consideration for other guests.

House Rules

Dogs aren't permitted on furniture or beds. Please bring their own bed or blankets.

Please clear all dog mess from the garden and patios before you leave.

Dogs aren't permitted in the pool building.

Each hot tub patio is private to its cottage. Please don't allow your dog onto the neighbouring cottage's patio.

How many dogs can we bring?

Up to two dogs per cottage, or four if you’ve booked The Entire Getaway. Dogs need to be booked and paid for in advance at £35 per dog, per stay.

Is the garden fully enclosed?

No. The perimeter is rural stock fencing and the driveway gate stays open for access, so it’s not 100% dog-proof. We’re surrounded by working farmland with sheep and cattle nearby, so dogs need supervising, particularly if they’re prone to wandering or have a strong prey drive.

Can we leave our dog alone in the cottage?

No. Dogs must not be left unattended in the cottage or garden at any time, so please bear this in mind when planning days out, meals and activities during your stay.

Can our dog sleep in the bedroom?

Yes, dogs are welcome in the bedrooms, just not on the furniture or beds – bring their own bed or blankets to keep them comfortable.

Are there walks straight from the door?

Yes. Gentle lanes and the Llyn Syberi loop start right from the gate, with Gwydir Forest’s woodland trails and the North Wales coast a short drive away.
